What is holdback?

Holdback (from the English hold – retention) is a specified part of the amount of payments for a certain period of time, which is temporarily held by the acquirer as a guarantee. In the event of chargebacks, the holdback is used to cover the chargebacks and associated costs.

You can be sure that the holdback will be protected and released after a time previously agreed with the client.
